Tailgate Books should work for everyone who runs a one-person business, including people who use a screen reader, larger text, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or voice instead of typing. This page says what we do and how to reach us if something gets in your way.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across the app at app.gettailgatebooks.com, this website, and the pages your customers open to read, sign and pay. We have not had an independent audit yet, so we do not claim full conformance.
What we do today
- Buttons, switches and other controls are labeled for screen readers such as VoiceOver and TalkBack, and switches say whether they are on or off.
- Text follows your phone's text size setting. Nothing in the app locks the size.
- Photos of the work, before-and-after pictures and other meaningful images carry a text description.
- Every screen and every customer paper is in English and Spanish, and customer pages tell the browser which language they are in, so a screen reader uses the right voice.
- You can talk instead of type in many fields, like notes and estimate lines. Your phone or browser turns your speech into text.
- The summary PDF in your download tells a screen reader its title and language, and the spreadsheets beside it carry the same figures.
- On this website, every question on the FAQ opens with the keyboard, and the focus is always visible.
Screens run by Stripe
Card payments, Stripe sign-up and your Stripe account screens are run by Stripe, not by us, so their accessibility is in Stripe's hands. Stripe publishes its own accessibility information. If one of them gets in your way, tell us and we will help you get it done.

If something in Tailgate Books is hard to use with the way you work, write to support@gettailgatebooks.com. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. A person reads every message, and we will help you get it done another way while we fix it. If you need any information from us in a different format, ask and we will send it.
